Barbara “Bobbi” Lee Merket, age 79 of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Port Austin, Michigan, and Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on August 15, 2025, following a series of illnesses.
Barbara was born in Chicago, Illinois, but calling several states home throughout her life before landing in Kentucky. Bobbi was a dedicated and devoted friend who loved cooking, crafts, making people smile, and telling stories. She delighted in nothing so much as her granddaughter, Paige. Bobbi believed in service, giving both time and resources to charitable causes, and was a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary, a Kentucky Colonel, and attended St. Frances of Rome Church.
Her professional life spanned her many talents and interests, whether it be working in and owning her own restaurant, retail management with multiple organizations, or breeding chihuahuas. Hers was a life without boundaries.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol; her brother, Joseph; and daughter, Brenda.
She will be missed by her children, Carol (Russ) and Kyle (Megan); granddaughter, Paige; sisters Helen (Frank) and Vera (John); her brother, Terry (Marsha); as well as many extended family members and friends, along with all her loved ones at Sacred Heart Village.
There will be a private celebration of life.
