Barbara "Barb" Jockell, 71, passed away May 24, 2017 at Baptist East Palliative Care, after a short illness. Born on July 2, 1945 in Shelbyville, KY; spending her life in Louisville. Barb is now reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Steven "Gracie" Jockell, her husband over 40 years. She leaves behind her "boys": two cats, Patchee Fogg and Spottie Clouds and many great friends that cared and loved her deeply.
With an eye for design, Barb had a degree in Interior Design. She owned her own business and worked exclusively for many private clients and new businesses. She was a perfectionist and very proud of her professional accomplishments. Her devotion to her church, Hurstbourne Christian Church shows the countless hours and love in the work she did. Barb had a tremendous love and bond with all animals "critters". One particular dog in her life Josh, was there to meet her with wet kisses and a happy tail at the Rainbow bridge. A big Labrador Retriever who cared and babysat for was a big part of her life.
With a heart of gold, Barb was always putting everyone else's needs first, helping in anyway she could. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hurstbourne Christian Church, Alley Cat Advocates, or Harvey's House Rabbit Sanctuary.
