Barbara Jean Smith

Barbara Jean Smith, 65, passed away on August 22, 2015. She retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff's office. Barbara was a very giving and caring person who was always there for anyone in need.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louise McMichen; son, Timothy Russell and brother, Jerry McMichen.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Moorman; grandchildren, Kristopher, Kellie and Danyelle; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Ann Sexton; brothers, Bob McMichen and Rick Brasfield; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Cliff.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 29, 2015, from 12pm-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) with a celebration of Barbara's life beginning at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to Newcomer Funeral Home for the funeral expenses of Barbara.
