Barbara Jean Burkhead

Barbara Jean (Terry) Burkhead went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2015 at the age of 79. Barbara Jean was born in Big Clifty, KY and lived there until she married her husband, S.J. Burkhead. After his tour in the Air Force, they settled in Louisville, KY. They were married 62 years and had one son, Keith D. Burkhead and one granddaughter, Ashley Burkhead.

Barbara Jean was the daughter of Samuel H. and Frances Terry. Along with her husband, son and granddaughter; she is survived by two sisters, Linda Marqez of Big Clifty, KY and Elaine Hall of Smyrna, TN. Barbara was a member of Southeast Christian Church.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Louisville East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home Louisville East will burial to follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens in Cecilia, KY.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Hosparus.
