Barbara Ann (Mattingly) Goins

Barbara Ann (Mattingly) Goins, 82, of Simpsonville, Kentucky, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 18, 2021, just one day before Barbara and her late husband, Howard Goins, would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Barbara was born in Louisville, KY on December 6, 1938 to her parents, Herman Johnson Mattingly and Iva Mae Mattingly who preceded her in death. Barbara is also preceded in death by an infant son, Howard L. Goins and a brother, Herman Milton Mattingly.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Ann Goins, and son Matthew Goins (Trish) of Simpsonville, KY, a sister Eula "Lou" Howard (Frank) of Taylorsville, KY, a granddaughter, Brandy Greeson (Ben) who are the parents of her great-grandchildren; Grace, Harper, and Scarlett of Vonore, TN, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.

Barbara retired from Jefferson County Public Schools where she worked in the lunchroom at Wilder Elementary School, and was a former member of the Lyndon Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She was a dog lover and loved her Shih-Tzu's bitsy and Bandit.
Barbara had been a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Middletown, KY for over 60 years. Barbara dearly loved the Lord God and her church. She considered every person who attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church a part of her family.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (13800 Aiken Road Louisville, KY 40243) with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
