Barbara Ellen (Simcox) Byrd, 72, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016. She loved to go bowling, as well as playing bingo and visiting flea markets. Barbara enjoyed traveling and visiting the beaches of Florida.

She was born on August 10, 1943 in Corydon, Indiana to the late Charles and Catherine (Hayes) Simcox. Barbara was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Simcox.

Barbara is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Ronald Byrd; sons, Greg Byrd (Sylvia), Todd Byrd (Lainie Cota), C.W. Byrd (Cindy); siblings, Sharon Linne, Mike Simcox (Patty), Debbie Rembe (Ron); 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN) with her Funeral Service taking place at 2 PM.
