Barbara Ann Hale Elder

March 15, 1933 — December 30, 2017

Barbara Ann Hale Elder, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 15, 1933 to the late Alvin Jackson and Iva Helen Hale. She was a member of Valley Chapel of Prayer. She was a loving wife, mother, grammy, sister, aunt, friend, homemaker and seamstress.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Keith Elder, Jr.; two daughters, Linda Elder and Tina Elder; and a sister, Virginia Mae Schierbaum.

Barbara is survived by beloved children, Joy (William V. Franklin, Sr) Franklin, Kay Elder, Peggy (Scott) Carpenter and Karl (Debbie) Elder; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Doyle; her beloved dog, Griffin; and a host of other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Saturday, January 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be from 12-3 on Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
