Barbara Hetrick Compton 79, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 under Hosparus Care at Norton Brownsboro Hospital with family by her side. She was born January 5, 1942, and grew up in Maysville, KY. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Zelma Hetrick, her brother Jerry V. Hetrick, and her son-in-law Allen Burger. A graduate of Maysville High School, Barbara went on to attend Morehead State University. She loved her Church, her extended family, her dogs and was an avid reader. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Zelma Hetrick, her brother Jerry V. Hetrick, and her son-in-law Allen Burger.

Barbara is survived by her husband, James W. "Jim" Compton; daughter, Debra "Debi" Burger; and son, James Robert "Rob" Compton (Kathy), along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held at Hurstbourne Baptist Church 8800 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40222 in the sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20th, 2021, with visitation immediately beforehand at 10:00 a.m.
