August "Marvin" Renn, 78, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 31, 2018. He loved working on the farm and enjoyed caring for his horses. Marvin was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church.
He was born on December 23, 1939, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late August and Lucille (Eberle) Renn. Marvin was also preceded in death by his son, David Renn; son-in-law, Michael O'Bannon; granddaughter, Isabella; and siblings, Sharon, Millie, Mary Lou, Mike, and Dickie.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanette (Wright) Renn; children, Glenn Renn (Diannia), Steve Renn (Melinda), Donna Renn (Lisa Hawkins), Kathy Lovett (Kevin), Tari O'Bannon, Jimi Barr (Cece), and Nikki Larkin (Bob); brothers, Tommy, Denny, and Brian Renn; grandchildren, Jake, Lisa, Michael, Adam, Neal, Renn, Gentry, Scott, Erin, Lennie, Richie, Dustin, Kara, and Savannah; and great-grandchildren, Marley, Esme, McKenzie, Haleigh, Emilee, Lynzii, Elizabeth, Makynzie, and Ezekiel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill campus) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Contributions in Marvin's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105).
