Arthur Dickson Jr. (Dick) was given leave of his painful body April 20, 2026 at 10:30 P.M. He was born in Dallas TX, February 28, 1938 to parents, Arthur Dickson Wharton Jr. and Emma Jane Logan Wharton as their 5th child and only boy. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1956 and went on to Graduate with a Bachelor Degree from Southern Methodist College in 1960. He married Camille Cain Wharton, and had two children, Stacy and Arthur Dickson III (Trey).
Dick developed his mechanical skills in many ways, owned and managed a Meat Processing Plant in Huntsville , TX. for many years. Having a heart attack in 1983 He sold that business and traveled as a Business Consultant for the May Company, Chicago, Ill. He and Camille divorced.
Dick and Connie Bilger were married in August, 1989. They purchased the business “Engine Rebuilders” in Louisville, Ky. operated and managed it until 2001 September. He sold the business and retired.
Dick was a faithful member of Southeast Christian Church and Chapel in the Woods in Louisville, Kentucky. At Southeast, he and his wife Connie received advanced training in their prayer group and from 1995 to 2002 led the Bible teaching for new members.
Dick leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Connie Loxley Warton; his two children, Stacy Riddick and Arthur Dickson III and their spouses, Pretlow Riddick and JoLynn Wharton; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Kelsea and Jose Lopez, Pierce and Tabatha Riddick, Logan and Jessy Riddick, Arthur Dickson and Lindsay Wharton, and Alexys and Derek Harris; and seven great- grandchildren, Micah Lopez, Anya Wharton, Jane, Andy, Lucy, and Cooper Riddick; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Chapel in the Woods, 1407 Moser Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40299. A Memorial Service will take place at 12pm at Chapel in the Woods.
