Arthur Lee Staser

Arthur Lee "Art" Staser, 61, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Art was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Grace Family Worship Church of God, VFW Post 3281, and the Bonnie Sloan American Legion Post 42. Art was known for being full of life and loved camping, traveling, NASCAR, and getting together with family and friends for cookouts.

He was born on January 16, 1960, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Robert D. Staser and Hazel (Webb) Briscoe. Along with his parents, Art is preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Staser.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Tammie (Sheckell) Staser; children, Misty Kruer, Angela (Chad) Denison, Robert Staser, Steven (Desira) Sheckell, and Joseph (Ashley) Byrd; sisters, Robin (Jimmy) Swartz and Brenda (John) Greathouse; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

The family requests that contributions in Art's memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
