Arthur Nathaniel Vest, Sr.

Arthur Nathaniel "Sonny" Vest, age 83, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. He was born on New Year's Eve in 1931, and he always said that is why everyone celebrates with fireworks for his birthday. He was retired after 40 years of service with the Marley Company and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Oma Jean; his parents, Elza and Ethel Williams Vest; and his siblings.

Mr. Vest is survived by his loving children, Jeanne Gregory (James), Gail Ferrell (Charles), Arthur Vest, Jr. (Catherine), Robert Vest (Tina), John Vest (Sandy), Patrick Vest (Becky) and Carla Patton; grandchildren, Julie, Joshua, Melody, Jeannette, Alycia, Skylar, Lindsay, Johnathan, Yuliya, Adam, Savanna, Alyssa, Ben, Brian, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jerrold, Jamie, Joseph and John; 30 great-grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral ceremony will be 1pm Monday, April 20, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 11am-6pm and Monday from 9:30am until 1pm.
