Arthur James "Art" Leidolf, 86, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Art was a graduate of New Albany High School and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a machinist for Naval Ordnance until his retirement. Art was also a member of the VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693, American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs, and the Floyds Knobs Conservation and Hunters Club.
Art was born on July 10, 1931 to the late Clarence W. & Blanche (Christian) Leidolf. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joann (Fertig) Leidolf; brothers, Harold, Oliver and David Leidolf; and sister, Martha Marquette.
He will be missed by his children, Mark Leidolf (Carol), Sheryl Staser (Tony), Anita Kays (Danny), Bruce Leidolf (Peggy), Arthur "Jim" Leidolf II (Holly) and Jo Lynn Gosnell (Steve); 10 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial Visitation will be 3 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Friday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church Chapel (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, IN) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Art's name can be made to the VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693 (1919 Grant Line Road, New Albany, IN).
