Arthur Lewis Hite, age 83 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025.

Arthur Lewis Hite, age 83 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away at home on Friday, April 11, 2025. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 23, 1941 to the late Arthur Leon Hite, of Louisville, and Jennie “Elizabeth” (Lewis) Hite of Buffalo, Kentucky. After graduating from Eastern High School, he attended Speed Scientific School while working at Louisville Gas and Electric Company where he retired. He and his Dad were the best of friends and they were always working together on various projects. He was an avid collector of many things including containers (ornamental or unusual shapes) of any kind. He started collecting as a young man as a Lifetime Member of the National Geographic Society. He also enjoyed looking at coins that were in circulation, always wanting to know if he could buy your change. He then rolled thousands of coins before depositing them in the bank.  In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Harold DeHart.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy (Clark) Hite; children, Jason Hite (Amy) and Julie Angel (Dennis); sisters, Betty Graham (Gary) and Janet DeHart; grandchildren, Hayden Angel, Carter Angel, Jacob Hite and Duncan Hite; and nephews, Anthony DeHart and Michael DeHart (Amanda); as well as many family members who have helped so much.  Also, part of the family and so much comfort were his dog and two cats.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides at Hosparus, Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the many offices where he received care. We appreciated the kindness, help, and love they gave him, including the many friends from Westport Road Church of Christ for their faithful help.  After a 20-year battle with many serious medical issues, Arthur remained hopeful to regain his youthful vigor.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm Friday, April 25, 2025 and 9am to 11am Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky with celebration of Arthur’s Life at 11am there. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to Hosparus of Louisville, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to Judy for help with Arthur’s medical expenses for multiple hospital stays.
