Arthur Lee Harper, Sr., 64, died Thursday, June 14, 2012.

Art was born on July 21, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in South Louisville and also the Shriner's Club. Art was a Harley-Davidson fanatic and member of the Harley-Davidson Owner's Group. He was a faithful member of the Southeast Christian Church where he met his wife of 12 years, Betty L. Waggoner. Art was passionate about his relationship with Jesus Christ and shared it with everyone as often as possible. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell.

He is survived by his wife; children & step-children; brother; many grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 7 PM Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). His funeral will be celebrated at 12:00 PM Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kosair's Children Hospital (PO Box 950183, Louisville, KY 40295-0183).
