Anthony “Petey” Wise was born on August 25th, 1962 and on October 11th, 2025, he took his final rest at home— but leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and strength that will never fade.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Deloris Wise, his grandmother Margaret Wise, and a special aunt Margarette Taylor, who helped shape the man he became. Though they went before him, their love lives on through him and the family he leaves behind.
Petey was the rock of his family—steady, dependable, and strong. Fittingly, “Petey,” short for Peter, means “rock” or “stone.” And that’s exactly what he was to everyone who knew him. He stood tall in hard times, yet had a gentle heart, especially when it came to his girls.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Paula Turner-Wise, who stood faithfully by his side; his children, Nicole Wise, Ebony Wise, Brittany Blackburn, Brison Stephenson, and Tony Blackburn, who each carry a part of his heart; and his brothers and sisters, Jerry, Ricky, Cindy, Carl, and Toya who stood by him through the many choices and chapters of his life. From childhood to manhood, they shared his journey- blessed with the love of many nieces and nephews — Most of all, Petey's a proud grandfather who showed his happiest in his grandchildren’s smiles and milestones.
Petey was known for his giving spirit — always ready to lend a hand. Giving his best efforts, often with training or life teachings. Strong-willed, sometimes stubborn, but always loving, he showed his care through both tough love and quiet compassion. Those who knew him best understood that behind that strength was a heart full of loyalty and love.
Though his final chapter was marked by distance, his life was rich with moments that shaped us, challenged us, and taught us. Even though he left without saying goodbye, his presence will forever remain with those he loved. His strength will continue to guide, his laughter will echo in memories, and his love will live on through every life he touched.
Forever in our hearts🕊🕊
