Anthony Jerome "Tony" Striegel was born on April 13, 1949, in New Albany, Indiana, to Al and Martha Striegel.
Tony was known as the life of every gathering-always laughing, always joking, and bringing joy to those around him. He had an unshakable faith and quietly reached out to many in need, offering comfort, love, and support.
He was a graduate of New Albany High School and spent his entire career with General Electric, where he worked with dedication and pride.
Tony shared his life with his beloved wife, Janis. He loved his wife dearly, and they spent nearly all of their time together over more than 50 years of marriage. Together, they traveled extensively, visiting many exciting places and creating a lifetime of cherished memories.
He was a devoted father to his son, Brian, and a loving father-in-law to Cheryl, whom he affectionately called "Sunshine." He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Lexi, "his angel," and Jacob, "Best Buddy " who brought him endless joy.
Tony loved the outdoors and spent his time hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and caring for his flowers. He enjoyed talking about business, sharing jokes, watching sports, and attending every event his son and grandchildren participated in. Being there for his family meant everything to him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Striegel; father, Al Striegel; brother, Marty S. Striegel; sisters, Jeanette Hayden, Shirley Marie Harbison, and Rosemary Peay; and brother, Tommy Lee Striegel.
Anthony "Tony" is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Janis Striegel; his son, Brian (Cheryl) Striegel; grandchildren, Lexi Striegel and Jacob Striegel; brothers, Marvin (Beverly) Striegel and Bobby (Rena) Striegel; and sisters, Christine Baumann, Barbara Vance, and Debbie (Steve) Page.
