Anthony "Tony" Powell, 61, passed away on January 3, 2016. He was an Army veteran who served in Germany. Tony was a softball coach for Tony's Tigers, he had an unconditional love of the Rolling Stones and was a faithful fan of the New York Yankees.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Powell, Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Powell; sisters, Anna Jaggers and Cecelia McKinley; nieces, Melissa Powell and Tiffany Jaggers; nephews, Christopher Jaggers, Brandon Jaggers and Ryan McKinley; great-nephews, Brandon "Bubba" Jaggers, Jordan Jaggers and Anthony "Tony" Garcia; great-nieces, Tatum Lohden and Addisyn McKinley; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, from 1pm-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel with a celebration of Tony's life beginning at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
