Anthony Lewis Allen was born on February 10, 1964 to the late Samuel Allen and Dolores Andrews. He attended Shelbyville High School graduating in 1982. Anthony enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1984, serving as a Sergeant with the Military Police, where he received the AF Training Ribbon, AF Good Conduct Medal, AF Small Arms, Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Achievements Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal and served in the Operation of Desert Shield Storm. He was honorably discharged in 1991. His career in the Air Force led him to becoming a Security Supervisor at the Louisville International Airport traveling from state to state ensuing the safety of others after September 11, 2001.
Anthony joined First Virginia Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the men's choir and eventually became a Deacon in the church until his health deprived him of being active in the church.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 30 years, Tonja Allen; children, Aaron (Kate) Allen and Samantha (Michael) Heston; grandchildren, Evelyn and Myles; sister, Michelle (Mike) Allen; brother, Troy (Polly) Allen and Tracy (Michelle) Allen and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
