Anthony Wayne Lawson, age 75, of Pendleton, KY passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. Anthony was a man that understood the most important things in life were the simple ones; the time he spent reading his bible in the mornings, working around the farm or doing carpentry work, or laughing and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren- no amount of time spent with his loved ones was enough. The only three accomplishments he cared about were his love affair of 52 years, his three "smart, strong, amazing" grandchildren and great grandchild whom he thought hung the moon. He was a hard worker, but you never heard him complain and he was always finding ways to make his work fun. His whole life he was able to hold on to a youthful, hopeful, inquisitive spirit that kept him eager to learn more about the world he lived in. He enjoyed being outside and recognized the beauty all around him- he loved to watch a field being planted, birds at his feeders, and a beautiful sunrise. He was a skilled carpenter and outdoorsman. He was an Army Veteran whom proudly served his country in Korea and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He had a gentle spirit and spoke unkind words about no one. He walked gently on this earth, but left a clear path for us to follow. He was born on September 9, 1946 to the late Frank and Dorothy Lawson in Pendleton, Ky. Along with his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Taylor.
Anthony is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Lawson; son, Mark Lawson; grandchildren, Ethan Lawson, Grant Lawson and Quinn Lawson; great-grandchild, Blair Lawson; brother, David Lawson; sisters, Frankie Powell and Deloris "Dee" Younger. Anthony also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His big, warm smile, his fun-loving ways, and his kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be from 10am to time of service at 12pm on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1659 Mt. Olivet Road, LaGrange, Kentucky 40031, with Pastor Vance J Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Bedford Cemetery.
