Anna Christine “Nana” Pierce, born October 24, 1960, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by those who loved her, following a three-year battle with cancer.
Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was married to David Platt and was the mother of Kirsten Brown (Jason Brown), Molly Platt (Rob Docherty), and Kyle Platt (Jessica Platt).
To her six grandchildren—Hayden, Madilynn, Corbin, Makenzie, Eleanore, and Caroline—she was simply Nana. They were among the greatest joys of her life. She treasured tea parties, being their patient when they played doctor or their costumer when they played store, the mud-pie kitchen, wiffle ball and kickball games, and sitting on the sidelines watching them play sports. More than anything, she wished for more time to watch them grow and make memories together.
Anna spent the majority of her career at Packaging Unlimited, where she dedicated many years of her life to her work and the people she came to know.
Anna loved music, and her faith in Jesus carried her through some of life’s hardest moments. As her journey came to an end, she was ready to go home to Jesus and find the peace she had been longing for.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Christine and Donald Pierce, and her siblings, David Pierce and Don Pierce. She is survived by her husband, children and their families, six grandchildren, and her siblings, Linda Underhill, Doug Pierce, and Johnny Pierce.
Anna’s greatest legacy will be the love she gave and the memories she left behind. Her family will carry her with them in the stories they share, the music she loved, and the countless moments that made her life special.
Rest peacefully, Nana. You are finally home with Jesus. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Per Anna‘s wishes there will be no funeral service but a close family celebration of life on her birthday, October 24, 2026.
