Anna Mae(Owen)Hentrup Wood

Anna Mae (Owen) Hentrup Wood, 90, of New Albany, IN passed away on February 3, 2016. She joined the Ladies Auxiliary at V.F.W. 3281 in 1976 and has been a faithful member since then. Anna's father and three brothers were fireman which gave her unending respect and appreciation for the profession.

She was born in New Albany, IN on July 19, 1925 to the late Virgil & Mabel (De Ark) Owen. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Gilbert Hentrup, Sr.; 2nd husband, Roy Wood; step son, Billy Wood; son in law, Randy Lane; grandchildren, Bobby Ray & Carissa; sisters, Georgia, Betty, & Grace; brothers, David, Bill, Tom, & Oberson.

Anna is survived by her children, Sylvia Galligan (Bill), Mary Hentrup (Charles), Sharon Davis (Dennis), Madonna Lane, Martha Jenkins, Gilbert Hentrup, Jr. (Ruth), John Hentrup (Carla), Robert Hentrup (Connie), & Nancy Ferguson (Randy); step children, Kathleen Williams (Ted), Roy Wood (Delores), Brad Wood (Mary), Judy Binkley (Ronnie), Bobby Wood (Bonnie), & Sandy Logsdon (Mike); sisters, Mary Perry & Sue Davis (Bob); brother, Robert Owen (Myong); 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

Anna and her family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to all of the local fireman and first responders, the staff at Autumn Woods Health Campus and Floyd Memorial Hospital for their kindness and care.
