Anna Mae Durbin

Anna Mae Durbin, 98, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on March 5, 1928 to the late Fredrick E. and Elsie F. (Smith) Haub.

She worked as a cook and in activities for 35 years at Green Valley Care Center. Anna loved cooking and making zucchini bread. She also loved to garden and her summers were busy canning from her garden. She made lots of jelly, canned beans, pickles, tomatoes, and corn. Anna loved watching hummingbirds in her past time but her most pride and joy was her family. Anna had a strong faith and was a member of Crossroads Community Church in New Albany, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Harold Durbin; parents, Fred E. and Elsie (Smith) Haub; sisters, Alice Belcher and Mabel Huff; and brothers, Jesse, Woodrow, Phillip and Joe.

Anna is survived by her loving sons, Gary (Linda) Durbin and Kevin (Kathy) Durbin; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). A second visitation will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 starting at 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Anna’s memory be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
