Ann Elizabeth (Richardson) Paine, born on August 30, 1965, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. A beloved educator and cherished member of her community, Ann dedicated her life to teaching music at Lanesville and Floyd Central Junior High School, where she inspired countless students with her passion for music.
Ann's educational journey began as a proud 1983 graduate from New Albany High School. She further pursued her love for music at Ball State University, earning a bachelor's degree in music education. Throughout her life, she embodied the joy of learning and the importance of artistic expression, instilling these values in her students.
In addition to her commitment to education, Ann was an avid enthusiast of music, cooking, gardening, and was particularly fond of watching hummingbirds. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles and cherished her time spent at the beach. Above all, Ann treasured the moments shared with her family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be held dear by all who knew her.
Ann was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and achieved 24 years of sobriety. Her commitment to recovery was not just a personal triumph but also a way for her to give back, as she dedicated herself to helping others navigate their own journeys in recovery.
Ann is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Paine; her sons, John Robert (Alyssa) Ellnor, V and Benjamin Scott (Jacqueline) Ellnor; her stepsons, Timothy (Terren) Paine and Steven (Courtney) Paine; her grandchildren, Braxton, Makenzie, Raygen, Macie, and a new grandbaby on the way; her father, John Wesley Richardson; her brother, Bill (Laura) Richardson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many treasured friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jane (Demaree) Richardson, and her grandparents, whose legacies she honored throughout her life.
Viewing services will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM on the same day. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Mallow Family Cemetery in Bargersville, Indiana.
Ann Elizabeth Paine’s spirit, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will be eternally remembered and cherished by all whose lives she touched.
