Amy Lou Cook, 53, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Amy was a loving and devoted sister, aunt, cousin, colleague and friend. She was a graduate of Spencer County High School in 1991 and continued her education at Midway College where she obtained her nursing degree. Amy had a passion for nursing and dedicated several years to caring and nurturing her patients. She was a member of Christ Community Church and also attended Spencer Christian Church where she cherished the many friendships she made. Amy loved the beach her love for the ocean was evident in her collection of flamingos and beach Santa Clauses. She enjoyed Diet Mountain Dew and was known to have one at all times. Most importantly, Amy will be remembered for her loving and caring nature. She cherished her family and friends, and was loved by all. She lived by her mantra, Adonai El-Roi, which means My God Who Sees Me. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was born on February 7, 1973 in Louisville, Kentucky to Paul and Betty (Peach) Cook. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul A. Cook; mother, Betty C. Cook; sister, Peggy Cook; and brothers, Ricky Cox and Emmett Cox.
Amy is survived by her loving family, brothers, Paul Anthony (Theresa) Cook, Danny (Dawn) Cox; sisters, Carolyn Cox, Jennifer (Aaron) Seaton; beloved fur babies, Levi and Angel; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
The family requests that contributions in Amy’s memory be made to The Missions Fund at Christ Community Church.
