Amelia Louise Sauer

Amelia Louise Sauer, a beacon of light to those who knew her, departed this world on April 12, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on October 29, 1966, Amelia lived a life that was as vibrant and fulfilling as the sun-soaked beaches she cherished in Florida. She was the epitome of selflessness, independence, and honesty — qualities that endeared her to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Amelia possessed a rare gift for making people laugh, her infectious sense of humor always managing to brighten the darkest days. Friends and family alike found solace in her presence, for she was not merely a companion; she was a reliable confidante, always there to lend an ear or a helping hand. Her ability to put a smile on someone’s face was unmatched, a testament to her nurturing spirit.

Among her most cherished memories were the countless shopping trips she took with her family, moments filled with laughter.  Whether she was out hunting for the perfect outfit or simply enjoying the company of her loved ones, Amelia's joy was unmistakable. She also found beauty in simplicity, often taking in the serene views of the ocean, her love for the Florida beaches reflecting her deep appreciation for nature and relaxation.

A devoted collector of angels, Amelia surrounded herself with symbols of peace and protection, much like the compassion she offered those close to her. Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life. She poured her heart into nurturing them, and her legacy continues through the love and values she instilled in each of them.

As we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman, we also celebrate the mark she left on our lives. Amelia Louise Sauer will be remembered for her unwavering support, her humor that could light up a room, and her boundless love for family and friends. She has left a profound void, but her spirit will live on in the hearts she touched and the memories shared. Rest in peace, dear Amelia; your laughter, love, and selflessness will forever echo in our souls.

A visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4p,-8pm with a celebration of Amelia's life beginning at 6pm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Sauer.

Amelia leaves behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Ron Rockey; children, Tiffany Chumbley, Jessica (Matthew) Miller, Sandra (Jennifer Wall) Rucci, Alyssa Rucci and Andrew (Monica Wilson) Rockey; grandchildren, Vontez, Jordan, Savannah, Matthew, Koben, Karmaleigh and Harmony; siblings, Karen, Helen and Henry and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
