Alvis Kelly "Al" Moses, 70, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away peacefully into eternal life at home after a long illness on Friday, January 15, 2016. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Al was a Vietnam veteran and retired machinist from Cherry Burrell.
He was born on April 24, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Damon and Rose (Glump) Moses. Al is remembered and held dear by his wife of 36 years, Rita (Baurle) Moses; children, Tamara Anderson (Carl), Donna Gibson (Mike), Shannon Moses (Michael), Heather Moses (Kenny Sears); brother, Jerry Moses (Barbara); grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn, Anthony Lynn, Josh Gibson, Emanda Gibson, Shelby Sears, Katelyn Moses; honorary grandchild, Cory Hulsizer; great-grandchildren, Gavin Just, Harrison Wade, Jayden Lynn, Jordan Lynn, June Lynn; countless nieces, nephews, family, friends and his devoted cats.
A Memorial Celebration will be held privately for family and friends. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. Contributions in Al's memory may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
