Alvin E. Smallwood, 76, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Friday morning, August 10, 2018. He was a United States Army veteran and retiree from General Electric in Louisville. Alvin loved sports and was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.

He was born on July 20, 1942 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late Rodolph and Ruth (Blizzard) Smallwood. Alvin was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Smallwood.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Shelton) Smallwood; children, Kevin Smallwood, Susan Tebault (Thomas); siblings, Virgil Smallwood (Georganne), Dotty Benningfield (Ed), Brenda Clark (John); sister-in-law, Linda Smallwood; grandson, Adam Tebault; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 3 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday after 11 AM. His Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.

Contributions in Alvin's memory may be made to Kindred Hospice (391 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
