Alma May Harris, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020. Alma was a caretaker at Adath Jushurun Cemetery for 38 years, until her retirement. She took pride in her work and everything she did. She loved being outdoors and had the best "Green Thumb". She loved her family and loved being needed and taking care of her loved ones. She was a Caretaker in every sense of the word.
She was born on March 26, 1938 in Frankfort, Kentucky to Benjamin and Gertrude (Armstrong) McMahan. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Harris Sr., Parents, Daughter, Sharon Key, Son-In-Law, Joe Luckett, Brothers, Bob McMahan, Art McMahan Sr., Earl McMahan, and Walter McMahan, Sister, Isabell Young.
Alma is survived by her Sons, Robert (Lisa) Harris Jr., Terry (Kay) Harris, and Samuel Harris Jr., Daughters, Margie (Winston) Graham, Betty Lyvers, Dianna Poodle (Doug Grider), Kathy Luckett, and Susan Harris, and Brother, Ben McMahan. Alma also leaves behind to cherish her memory 24 Grandchildren, 42 Great-Grandchildren, 20 Great-Great Grandchildren, and a host of Friends, and Extended Family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at Newcomer Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
