Allan J. Cheeks

Allan J. Cheeks, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Allan was known for never meeting a stranger. He loved to talk and tell you a joke or two even if sometimes he made it up as he told them. He had many friends during his lifetime and will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

Allan was a retired special deputy for Jefferson County Sheriffs Department for 14 years. He worked many details but two of his favorite were the Crusade for Children and St. Joseph Picnic.

He was born on May 14, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Helen (Thompson) Cheeks. He is preceded in death by his Father, Charles Cheeks, Sr. and Mother, Helen Cheeks.

Allan is survived by his loving Wife of 39 years, Linda Cheeks; Daughter, Becky (Dan) Rooker; Grandson, Zackary Cheeks; Beloved Pets, Biscuit, Baxter, and Marley, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel and burial will follow with his family and friends.
