Alisa Dawn Roberts, 52, of New Albany, Indiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Jewish Hospital after having unexpected complications from a surgery. She managed the Hitching Post for 18 years where she made many friends along the way. This is where she earned the infamous nickname "Whitey."
She was born on July 15, 1962 in Paoli, Indiana to James and Linda (Patton) Roberts. Along with her parents, she is survived by her daughters, Brittany McCorkle, Kendall Frantz; brothers, Michael Roberts (Kim), Adam Roberts (Laurie); grandchildren, Isabelle, Kaiser, and Cohan; and seven nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9 AM. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Abundant Life in New Albany.
Alisa had a special place in her heart for the homeless. The family requests that contributions in her memory be made to Jesus Cares At Exit 0 (PO Box 1315, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
