Aliene Lucille (Akers) Spalding, 90, of Clarksville, IN passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017. She worked as a Nurse's Aide at Floyd Memorial Hospital where she retired after over 20 years of service. Aliene was talented at crocheting and loved to cook. She was a long time member of Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church.

She was born on July 29, 1926 in New Albany, IN to the late Edward L. & Elsie K. (Koehler) Akers. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Carl Spalding; brother, Edward Akers; and sister, Lena Akers.

Aliene is survived by her children, Bob Spalding (Bonnie), Marilyn Courier (Ambrose), Shirley Richmer, George Spalding, Charles Spalding, & Betty Atcher (Carl); her companion, Donald Dooley; brother, James Akers (Gayla); several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
