Alice Marie (Owens) Wells Weaver, 83, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, in New Albany, Indiana. She was a member of Grace Assembly Church in Palmyra, IN for many years. Alice owned and operated the Steamboat City Coin & Stamp in New Albany in the late 70's and 80's.
She was born on February 12, 1933 in Wood River, IL to the late Orval & Theresa (Sonnenberg) Owens. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her previous husband, Eugene Wells; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and 3 grandsons.
Alice is survived by her husband of 25 years, George "Red" Weaver, Sr.; children, Dennis Wells (Kathie), Diana Kizer (Rich), Ray Moore (Lois), Pam Conrad (Duray), Mike Wells, Larry Wells (Suzette), Richard Wells (Debbie), Dave Wells (Sharleen), Debbie Courtney (Dan), Vicki Hensgen (Bob), Kim Schaerer, & George Weaver, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
