Alfred P. Hittinger, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on April 6, 2016. He was a WW II Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legions Highlands Post 201. Alfred retired from Norfolk Southern Railway and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Alfred was born on August 13, 1919, Louisville, Kentucky to the late Alfred L. and Gertrude Hittinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Hittinger and several siblings.
Alfred is survived by his son, Glenn Hittinger; brother, Earl Hittinger; granddaughters, Kasey Kristiansen and Megan Shafer; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville). His Funeral Ceremony will be held Wednesday at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project and Kosair Children's Hospital.
