Alberta Marie Cockriel

Alberta Marie Cockriel, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at her home. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 12, 1929 to the late Louis Davis and Catherine Thompson. She retired from Shively Daycare after 32 years of service.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Damon F Cockriel; two sons, Curtis Cockriel and Neil Cockriel; and a sister, Edna Hilliard.
Alberta is survived by her children, Robert (Barbara) Cockriel, Darlene (Paul) Coater and Keith Cockriel; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Radcliffe and Shirley Kolb and a host of other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. The family will receive guest from 1:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Hosparus or the American Cancer Society.
