Alberta Elizabeth (Andres) Bertrand

Alberta Elizabeth (Andres) Bertrand, 93, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021. She was a life-long member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Alberta loved decorating for the holidays and enjoyed watching hummingbirds.

She was born on February 8, 1928, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, to Pete and Rose (Meyer) Andres. In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Bertrand; daughter, Phyllis Hughley; and siblings, Leona Lawson and Norbert Andres.

Alberta is survived by her sons, Ronald Bertrand, Jim Bertrand (Arlene), and Steven Bertrand (Rhonda); siblings, Mildred Niehoff, Elmer Andres, Rita Nolot (Vern), Ann Andres, Judy Bowe, and Melford Andres; grandchildren, Jamie Bertrand, Chris Bindner (Amanda), Chad Bertrand (Katie), Dr. Kyle Bertrand, Dr. Todd Bertrand (Courtney), Jennifer Nance (David), and Jason Bertrand; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs). Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
