October 31, 1934 — January 26, 2012

Albert Leonard Rice, 77, of New Albany passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012. He worked on the K&I Railroad and for Public Service Indiana as an equipment operator. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sellersburg Moose Lodge, Louisville Shrine Club and a 32nd Degree Mason, and a Floyd County Constable.

Albert was born on October 31, 1934 in New Albany, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace (Shetter) Sullivan; fiancée, Mary Caufield; son, Rick Rice; siblings, Margie Haeseley and Ronald Rice. He is survived by his daughter, Susan C. Bolin (Keith); brother, William "Bill" Rice (Marty); sister, Patricia "Patty" Hash; grandchildren, Susan Evans (Karl), Pam Bolin, Bradley Rice, Sam Harp; great-grandson, Karson Evans; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Monday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
