Alan "Hatchet" Stuart Hendrickson, born on June 30, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 25, 2025, in Greenville, Indiana. He lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and a deep commitment to those he loved.
Alan enjoyed a distinguished career, having served as the fleet manager for Plumbers Supply for over 20 years and working part-time at Schindler's Garage for many years. His professional journey included 11 years at Harvesters, along with many years at Ford Motor Company. He ultimately retired after a decade of dedicated service as a school bus driver for the Clarksville Community School Corporation, a role he cherished for the interactions it allowed him with the community.
His personality was truly unique; Alan never met a stranger and would engage anyone who would listen in conversation. He was a kind-hearted individual who was loved by everyone he encountered. Alan was also a proud member of the Fountain of Life Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and Faith Harvest Assembly in Greenville, Indiana, where he nurtured his faith and community ties.
Among his numerous hobbies and interests, Alan was an enthusiastic member of the Back In Time Car Club and enjoyed hot rod cars and motorcycles. However, his proudest accomplishment remained his unwavering devotion to spending quality time with his family-his wife of 40 years, Tamie Hendrickson; his son, Bryan Hendrickson; and his daughters, Whitney (Jeff) Spielmann and Tabatha (Aaron) Bias. Alan was blessed with grandchildren Megan, Kyle (Jessica), Lindsey (Devin), Shelby (Ben), Kayla, Taylor (Mason), Talia, and Atira, as well as great-grandchildren Brookelynn, Dean, Dylan, Eli, Emmett, Cason, Cole, and Kendall, and his fur babies, Maggie Mae and Minnie Lou, all of whom were his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Thomas and Alberta Hendrickson, and his brother, Thomas Hendrickson.
