Agnes Lee (Woods) Sims

Agnes Lee (Woods) Sims, 82, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on January 7, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Herman and Margaret Woods. Agnes was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and a great caregiver for her family. She enjoyed sewing and crafting and loved to watch sports.

Along with her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sims, Sr.; and a son, Kerry Brian Sims. Agnes is survived by her sons, Raymond, Jr. (Carol), Tim (Melody), and Patrick Sims (Melissa); her daughters, Mary Sims and Patricia Emerson (Tom); 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017, and 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119) with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
