Addie Mae Powell

Addie Mae Hayse Powell, 95, returned to her heavenly Father September 17, 2015. She was a beautician, a civil war buff, loved antiques, quilting, crocheting and most of all loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, S.J. Powell; daughter, Joyce Ann Gerkins and son, William Swift.

She is survived by her children, Harold (Brenda) Swift, Diana (Terry) Hammer and Earnest (Martha) Powell; daughter-in-law, Linda Swift, 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Hayse; sisters, Ethel Cocke and Barbara Embry, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2015, from 9am-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) with a celebration of Addie Mae's life beginning at 1pm with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
