Ada Scott

July 16, 1934 — February 23, 2015

Ada L. (Calkins) Scott, 80, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 23, 2015. She retired from Colgate Palmolive, Inc. and was a member of Scottsville Christian Church in Floyds Knobs.

Ada was born on July 16, 1934 in Ft. Riley, Kansas to the late Ruth (Gruber) & Russell E. Calkins, Sr. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Elsworth W. Scott; brother, Lawrence Calkins; grandson, Tony Atkins.

Ada is survived by her step-children, Drue Thompson (Ronnie) of Borden, Donna Atkins (Paul) of Sellersburg, Brenda Prather of New Albany, and Kimberly Scott; Daniel Scott (Debbie), David Paul Scott, and Mike Scott (Connie), all of New Albany; siblings, Joyce Schleter, Blanche Jerrell, & Russell Calkins, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Christian Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Scottsville Christian Church.
