Michael "Mike" W. Barry, 74, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Michael was born on March 7, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Edward Ennis and Beverly (Voepel) Barry. He was raised in St. Louis, attended Grover Cleveland High School and graduated in 1967. Michael studied B.S. Business Administration at Southeast Missouri State university. He is a past member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Michael served in the Air National Guard of in Tennessee until June of 1977.

He was a former news anchor/writer at WSM-TV, worked at The Healing Place in Louisville, Kentucky, Owner at MWB Design Solutions, LLC, President of Board of Directors at Faces and Voices of Recovery/Anchor at LEX-TV, and ended his career retiring as CEO at PAR-People Advocating Recovery.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister in-laws, Donald and Patricia Daubitz; great nephew, Justin Daubitz; stepbrother, Edward Barry; and grandparents, Erwin W. Voepel and Marjorie E. Voepel.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Dona Daubitz Barry; stepson, Glynn "Chip" Bryan Irvin; daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Wood; son, Scott Barry; granddaughter, Madison Nicole Wood; grandson, Ethan Barry; stepson, Derran Broyles; two brother-in-laws, Mark Daubitz and Chris Daubitz; niece, Miranda (Fred) Powell; two nephews, Tyler (Janet) Daubitz and David (Cassie) Daubitz; great nieces and nephews, Elliana, Taylor, Blake, Noah, and Donald; and cousin, Richard "Dickey" W. Fowler.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Michael’s memory be made to PAR People Advocating Recovery, (8911 Greeneway Commons Plaza, Louisville, Kentucky 40220 Suite 102).
