GMCS Ronald Raymond Siegerdt, 91, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Ronald was a Retired Veteran of the United States Navy, Master Chief Petty Officer.

He was born on June 2, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Raymond Siegerdt and Eleanor (Wiggins) Siegerdt. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Siegerdt; son, Roger Siegerdt; and son-in-law, Donald Kleinhaus.

After retiring from the Navy, Ronald and his wife, Joyce moved to Florida. While living in Florida, Ronald served on the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department for 10 years. When he retired from the Sheriff’s Department he continued to service his community as a fitness instructor at the local YMCA. There he developed an exercise program specifically designed for seniors.

In June of 2022, he moved to Greenville, Indiana to live with his grandson, Christopher Kleinhaus, and his wife, Olga. There he was cared for by Christopher, his wife, Olga, and their five children.

Ronald is survived by his brother, Robert Siegerdt; daughter, Linda (Siegerdt) Kleinhaus; grandson, Christopher Kleinhaus, his wife, Olga; and five great grandchildren, Logan, Amber, Brandon, Mary Camille and Simon.

He will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, Illinois. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care.
