Loren Wood, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023.
Loren loved his family and serving his country.
He was born on September 8, 1940 in Governor, New York to Guy and Lottie (Lanko) Wood. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Marjorie Wood, his son Loren Donnie Wood, his mother, Lottie Wood, father, Guy Wood, and many siblings.
Loren is survived by his daughter, Sherri Wesley (Ronny), grandchildren, Tabitha Wood, Justin Grizzel (Whitney), Tyler Grizzel, and Loren Wood, great grandchildren, Morgan Hammons, Hunter Hammons, Brian Hammons, Kaiden Grizzel, Landon Wood, Kaylee Grizzel, and Peyton Grizzel, his siblings Harland, Donna, and Libby. Loren is also survived by a host of loving friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). He will be put to rest next to his wife at 12:30pm on Wednesday November 22, 2023 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central).
