David Allen Francke, 76, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023. He was a proud veteran and completed a tour in Vietnam during his 2.7 years in the Army. David loved his family. More than anything, he loved a good joke. David wanted to laugh and make those around him laugh with him. We encourage everyone to share stories and jokes and enjoy laughing at his celebration of life.
He was born on October 14, 1946 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Francis Francke and Caroline Erni Francke. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Doris Schipper.
David is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Francke; children, Emily Geary, Sally (Aree) Francke-Bray, Beth (Steve) Bryant and Jon (Courtney) Francke; grandchildren, Keon Bray, Evan Geary, Caeden Bray, Kaytlynn Geary, Carter Francke, Owen Francke and Daisy Bryant; sister, Karen (Pete) Peterson; and brother-in-law, Randy Schipper.
Cremation was chosen following David's wishes and a Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Clark County Casting & Conservation Club (6400 Conservation Dr., Jeffersonville, IN). Celebration of Life is casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vietnam Dog Handler Association (https://www.vdha.us).
