I met Jim as a freshman at UK , August, 1978. I showed up for Marching Band practice and was directed to the “green room” to meet my twenty five fellow percussionists who would become my brothers for one special semester. While the “band” was learning the first show in the sweltering sun, I walked into air conditioning and laughter and was welcomed by all. They were so different! Cute, funny, cocky, serious, smart, stoned (never Jim), all bold- all brilliant (we were percussion after all) but the sweetest one of all was Jim Tutt- Our very own “King Tutt”. I am devastated to hear of his senseless death and wish his beautiful family and friends LOVE. My requiem for Jim this past week was the National Anthem,UK fight song, My Old Kentucky Home and Fantasy by Earth, Wind and Fire, a song we performed that season. Let his music fill your soul.

Went to church for many years with Jim and Karen. Such a sweet couple and Jim always wore a smile on his face! Although I have not seen them for a number of years my memory is vivid regarding Jim and Karen. May Jesus wrap His arms around this sweet family.
My love and prayers…

I had the please of meting Jim when he joined Encompass as our VP of Finance. A consummate professional, dedicated man to his Faith and Family, and simply a wonderful human being.
It was through Jim that my wife and I had the district pleasure of meeting Karen. Truly a couple that radiated Love and Trust in a relationship.
May God Bless the Tutt Family

I was a new client of Jim’s. We had dinner just last week and about four weeks prior. From the moment I met Jim, I felt the warmth of his soul and the cheer in his heart. I will miss not only seeing and speaking with him, but will wonder how many more authentic conversations we would have had. My best to Jim’s family, and his friends at ONB. Rest In Peace, Jim.

Karen & family,
We were so saddened by the tragic loss of Jim. We cannot imagine your sorrow but we know he is now walking by sight in the presence of our Lord. We are praying for you and your family. May God bring peace to your broken heart as only He can do.
Steve said Jim was so helpful with the mortgage rewrite at CBC many years ago. He was a good man and a Christ follower.
God bless you all as you walk this grief journey.

Jim was a wonderful guy. We met last fall when one of our clients was looking for financing for the purchase of a large apartment project in St. Louis, MO. Our office got in contact with him, he did his due diligence, and said "we'll do it." He was a true professional, and after the deal closed he emailed EVERYONE involved the following: "Thanks everyone for your diligence in getting this to the finish line. Best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2023."
While I didn't get to know Jim well in the short time we did business, I could tell him was an extraordinary man. I know how much he'll be missed, but he is now
with our Creator, whom I believe when he met Jim said, "Well done my son."

From the day you moved in next door, we all became fast friends. Our lives and our children’s lives have been forever entwined. We will miss all the impromptu cookouts, late night deck time, story telling and homemade wine. But, we look forward to seeing you again one day to share another toast… get the wine ready, friend!
~ Chad and Jayne Childress - April 15, 2023
Jim was my leader to the Dominican Republic mission. It was my first mission trip out of the USA. He was so kind and so loyal to the people of the Republic. Our group participated in so many wonderful events for the small community. Jim’s humor and leadership made a for a wonderful experience . Jim’s faith and spiritual guidance on that trip, has made an even greater impact on my life. My prayers are with the family.

Jim was a great mentor to me early in my career and went out of his way to help me and others grow. He was also a great friend and someone I have always looked up to as a role model. I was fortunate to have been the Usher at Jim and Karen's wedding and have fond memories of spending time with him, Karen and the kids. Jim set an example of what every human being should strive to be, from being a great family man and a selfless and loyal friend, to leading a life of service while managing a successful career. He touched numerous lives positively and will be greatly missed!

I met Jim and Karen at an overnight event held at French Lick Resort roughly five years ago. Joe knew Jim through business and spoke highly of him. After meeting Jim and Karen, I could see why Joe liked him and Karen was just as easy to love within no time of meeting her. We connected and enjoyed dinners together and laughs about our kiddos and life in general. COVID interrupted getting together with friends, but we looked forward to resuming events with Jim and Karen. Ironically, our son, Clayton became Jim’s personal trainer and as expected, Clayton looked forward to time with Jim not only for his discipline in the gym, but because Jim was such a good man. Our hearts are broken for everyone affected by this tragic and senseless act, mostly for the survivors who will forever miss their loved ones. Karen, Joe and I are here for you, don’t hesitate to call on us. God promises we will be together again and I believe this with all my heart. Rest In Peace. ??

Dear Family of Jim Tutt,
I send you my deepest sympathy. I hope it helps to hear God has Jim safely wrapped up in His arms. You will meet again someday soon.
~ Michelle Nuss - April 14, 2023
My heart goes out to all the Tutt family. I am actually a second cousin to Jim but haven't seen any of the family since we were all children...and doubt if any if them would remember ne except for Jim Sr. But when I learned of this tragic event through TV and they released names I recognized his name immediately. My siblings and both parents are both gone so I know how hard it is to lose loved ones but I'm sure it doesn't compare to losing your loved one so suddenly. Prayers for Jim's family. And even though I haven't seen any if them since we were young by what I have read from so many Jim was a very well liked and respected man. Love and prayers to you all. Robin Fallis Moore. (My parents were Louise and Bill Fallis)

I did not know Jim Tutt, personally but I work for Old National Bank in Northwestern Indiana. My heart goes out to Jim, his family, friends, and colleges during this difficult time. You all have my deepest sympathies and may God comfort you all during this difficult time.

We grieve with you and pray God floods you with all the cherished memories of dear Jim during this tragic time. Near and far he touched lives with his smile and kindness. Steve first met Jim at Liberty Bank. From then our friendship grew to what felt like extended family. Jim gave the introductions and blessing at our wedding reception. Our memories are countless of many visits, a houseboat trip, countless meals at Tumbleweed, concerts, The Oaks and as we have spent this week recalling just wonderful, rich times of friendship. Aaron and Andrew we miss seeing you and wrap you and the entire family in our love and prayers today and in the times to come. Know we genuinely care and our hearts hurt as we grieve this senseless loss of your amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle. The peace will come in knowing where Jim is and that his love and joy was because he loved and served his Lord and rests now with him. Love Lynn and Steve Finzer

My sincere condolences to your family. The ONB team supports and prays for you all.

I am incredibly sorry, I will never forget your always present smile and wonderful laugh, your love for your boys and how involved you were with them. I am sure this extended to all of your family. My deepest sympathies go to your family and friends.

I was close friends with Jim, we had a clique in the 70's and we all hung out on the weekends. It was Jim, Joe Pat, Ray, Eddie and me usually from 1977 to 1980. I contacted Jim a few years ago when I saw he had a social media account and we reminisced our good ole days. We had both studied finance and we were happy to know each other had done well in life. I was blessed to know him and my heart breaks for his family as I offer my condolences to all that are mourning this tragic taking of Jim and his colleagues lives, may he now rest in eternal peace!
~ Carlos Thompson, Jr - April 13, 2023
Knew Jim well during our days at Liberty National Bank. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known, and very much enjoyed the times and vacations spent with him and his wife. While I've been gone for years, Jim's name would come up frequently in conversations I had with other Louisville banking friends, and it was clear he was much admired and a prominent person in the community. Along with the others, Louisville lost a great one. My sincerest condolences to the Tutt family.

I know there are no words that can ease your pain. Just know that your Old National family will always be here for you.

I had the privilege of working for Mr. Jim in 1995-1996 at Bank One. I worked there through a temporary service while my husband attended mortuary college. He was such a sweet man. He made a lasting impression on me. I remember at Christmas time when everyone was exchanging gifts, he gave me gift card to the Galleria Mall. I was very surprised considering I was a just a temporary employee and he knew I would be moving back to my home state in a couple of months. He didn't have to do that, but he made me feel like I was part of his department. My prayers are with his family in this difficult time.
~ Angela Sims - April 13, 2023
I’m so saddened and will continue to lift your family in prayer . He is with Jesus.
Although I have not seen Jimmy since our high school band family years, the memories that came quickly were his dedication to keeping the band on beat(percussion), his kind character and his steadfast friendly smile.

It has been many moons since I've seen his face. I grew up down the street from him in Indian Hills in Frankfort and his sister Beth and I were great friends. When I saw the tragic news, I couldn't believe my eyes. How much he looks like his father. It is with deep sadness to see things end this say and the family has my deepest condolences. Give Beth a beg hug and kiss from me, you both will be greatly missed. Once a Flyer...ALWAYS a Flyer.

Jim was one of the most gentle humans I’ve ever been blessed to know. I consider it a privilege to have served alongside him and his beautiful wife twice on missions in the DR. We dug trenches together, installed water systems, witnessed to people, and fed kids while fellowshipping with the ministry team he helped recruit and lead. He was an amazing servant leader.

You each are being lifted up daily for your peace, comfort and understanding to be met during this time. Jim will be remembered as a kind man. It was a pleasure to have crossed paths with him in this life.

I'm one of Jim's first cousins, I remember many days as we grew up together at our grandparents during the day as our parents worked.
This is so sad/senseless, my heart goes out to his family (I'm so very sorry for your loss, I know words mean nothing now), force on the GREAT memories...

I am a colleague of Jim’s at ONB, from Ann Arbor, MI. Jim was incredibly smart, kind, funny, gracious, and an all- around true gentleman. Jim loved working in commercial real estate and was one of the go-to experts in the field at ONB, but away from the Bank Jim was all about “living life large”, and loved his travels, wine, and most of all, his family. He will be greatly missed.

Jimmy was my Class of 77 classmate. We were usually in home room or close in whatever we were lining up for. Both being T’s we were always close together. I will remember Jimmy as being one of the coolest dudes in our class and accepting of everyone. I can see the good Lord saying to him “well done, my good and faithful servant”. A place was already Prepared for Jimmy.

My family and I were blessed to be part of the same church family years ago with Jim and Karen Tutt. Karen was our youngest daughter’s small group leader, and Jim was the leader of the very first mission trip my daughter and I went on to the Dominican Republic.
The impact of that week on our hearts and lives has stayed with me all these years, and it was due in no small part to Jim’s humble yet confident leadership.
I will forever remember him as a kind, compassionate, and wise leader whose servant’s heart brought glory to our Precious Lord.
My heart is broken for his beautiful wife Karen, and his precious family. Rest in Peace dear brother, and may God’s Grace, Comfort, Mercy and Compassion be with your family and loved ones ~
