Nancy Lauderdale
1954 - 2023

Nancy (Carithers) Lauderdale, age 68, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Nancy was born on August 28, 1954, in Princeton, Indiana. She was one of six children of James and Florence Carithers. Her family relocated to Boonville, Indiana, in 1958. Nancy lived in Boonville most of her life. She was married to George Lauderdale for twenty-nine years. They made Stendal, Indiana their home for the last twenty-two years.

George preceded Nancy in death by only six months. They adored each other and were inseparable. Everyone always said they were a perfect match.

Nancy will be especially missed by her two best friends, Carmen Downing and Toni Price. They have been friends since childhood. The three were together through the worst and best of times. They were there for Nancy when she lost her beloved son Scott in 2008. Carmen and Toni have been and always will be considered family.

Nancy was a school bus driver in Warrick county for over 40 years. She loved being with her friends, family and grandchildren. She had an infectious smile, laugh and sense of humor. She will be missed by many.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Amy Morgan; grandchildren, Brent Burch, Abby Gowers, Becca Lutz and Abby; and Becca’s mother, Teresa Lutz; sisters, Virginia Whittinghill and Lynn Hendrickson; George’s children, Brad, Tracy, Tim and Tad Lauderdale; George’s grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents James and Florence Carithers, her husband George Lauderdale, son Scott Burch, siblings Jerry Carithers, Ed Carithers and Mary Barr, and her nephew Grant Whittinghill.

The family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Steven Barnett, her longtime physician, and Dr. Edward Fox, her oncologist. A special thanks to Brad and Carmen Downing who both went above and beyond for Nancy. Our family will never forget your love and kindness.

No public service is planned at this time.
