Susan Jane Hayes, 81, of Greenville, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023. Susan enjoyed traveling and loved crafting. Above all else, her greatest love of all was her grandchildren. She was a member of the Catholic faith and also worshipped at Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany. Susan was a histologist at Norton Healthcare and retired from Norton Brownsboro Hospital.

She was born on October 15, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Charles Larison, Sr., and Cornelia (Satterly) Farris. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Hayes; sister, Patricia Larison; and brother, Tommy Farris.

Susan is survived by her loving children, Nick (Janet) Hayes, Marcy (Joseph) Robinson, Thomas (Kathy) Hayes, and Tisha Whitson; her extended children, Doug Shaw, Danny Sieg, and Chuck (Lisa) Sieg; brothers, Charles Cecil (Donna) Larison, Jr., and David (Lorraine) Farris; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
