Emma F. Harrison, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, went to be with our Heavenly Father at 3:30 pm on Monday, November 21, 2022.
She was born on October 31, 1932 in Bloomfield, Kentucky to the late Milton and Eva (King) Richardson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Harrison Jr., and loving companion Robert Alspach, son, Robert L. Harrison, daughter, Carolyn S. Vires, great-great-grandson, Xander L. Hughes and siblings; Doub Richardson, Herbert Richardson, Milton Richardson Jr., James "Buckie" Richardson and Alma Curtsinger.
Emma was known for her tenacious personality and her huge heart. She had countless friends and devoted most of her time through volunteer work with multiple Veteran organizations such as VFW Post 1170, GI Joe Lodge Post 244, American Legion Post 180, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Jeffersontown, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Jeffersontown, and many other organizations throughout Louisville. Emma is a true blessing to all who have been touched by her selfless time, generosity and love.
Emma is survived by her daughters, Barbara Lynn Haycraft (David), Anna Morrow, Laura L. Shuck,
two sisters; Alice Gelhaus, Jean Humphries, sixteen grandchildren; Shawna Harrison, Mark Morrow, Kelly Jones, Adam Morrow, Bessie Morrow, Stephanie Harrison, Beth Harrison, Josh Harrison, Pamela Vires, Kevin Vires, John Henry Adams, Taylee Hughes, Michael Haycraft, Cameron Haycraft, Laney Haycraft, London Arbuckle, and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
The family requests that contributions in Emma's memory be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation.
