Catherine (Bennett) Thomas, 80, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Catherine worked at the Sellersburg Jay C Food Store for many years. She loved talking with everyone and handing out cookies at the deli. She was a faithful member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Campus). Catherine dearly loved her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

She was born on June 21, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Floyd Bennett and Helen (McPhillips) Bennett. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jimmie Dean Thomas; siblings, Marlene Duley, Floyd "Bud" Bennett, Betty Hayden, Gerald Bennett, and Dwight Bennett; and daughter-in-law, Deanna Thomas.

Catherine is survived by her sons, Christopher Thomas, Shawn (Carla) Thomas, and Chad Thomas; grandchildren, Candice, Marissa (Casey), Shawn, Gabriell, and Siera; great-grandchildren, Scott and Kielee; brother, Mike (Ann) Bennett; sisters-in-law, Betty Bennett, Charlotte Bennett, and Diana Harris; and brother-in-law, Lancy Hayden.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church - St. Joe Hill Campus (2605 St. Joe Road W., Sellersburg, Indiana) in the chapel with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
